The Symbolism of the Moon
The Moon, is a satellite of the Earth and is thought to have a profound effect on the Earth and everything in it. The tides, sowing, harvesting, animal behaviour, human moods and reactions – all of which the ancients saw the effects of the moon.
Modern astrologers claim that the Moon affects the human being the most amongst the other planets.
The Moon has long been interpreted as a “feminine” planet, primarily because the ancient Chinese marked the Moon with the ‘In’ symbol as a passive light-capturing celestial body, and also because of its resemblance to the feminine cycle.

In addition to all this, the Moon symbolises beauty, tenderness, emotion, motherhood, fertility, subconsciousness and creativity.
Because of these traits I have chosen the Moon symbol as the main one in the Spells of the Moon logo.
As the change of the Moon into the different phases is like our feminine moods and changing emotions – with ‘moon’ jewellery we focus on the women. Hence the moonstone crystal jewellery can be worn by both men and the children.
As many will agree that we can be very different, diverse and unique in our own way – the symbol of the Moon can be a reminder to us, that we are supported by this satelite in all areas of our lives: creativity, femininity, motherhood or the world of emotions.
